The Annual
Conference on Energy

about The Event

5th edition of the National Energy Conference in DRC Edition 2021

The Federation of Businesses in the Congo (FEC) is from 16-18 September 2021 hosting the 5th edition of the Conference on Energy in the Democratic Republic of Congo, NRJ 5.

What is DRC/NRJ conference?

The Electricity Law of 2014 gave private companies a chance to participate in generating, distributing, and selling the country’s energy. Inspired of this liberalization the Federation of Businesses in the Congo (FEC) initiated DRC/NRJ to create a platform to share and to identify new growth strategies for the Congolese energy sector.

The conference format is designed to allow national and international delegates to exchange and generated new ideas for how government, industry and finance can work together to deliver better energy and ultimately better development, for all.

By taking the global situation as a call to action, this year’s conferences are taking these topics into discussion:
• The development of legal and institutional framework for the energy sector in DRC:
• regulations, national and international law.
• Scientific Research and Environment.
• Planning, production and distribution in DRC
• Regional cooperation
• The Grand Inga Project

Who will attend?

200 exclusively invited high level delegates representing leaders and specialists in the energy sector, government and non-governmental officials, business executives, researchers, investors, and policy makers from different countries around the world.
All gathered in Lubumbashi to discuss and identify strategic priorities for scaling up renewables across DRC to overcome energy access gaps.
